RADIATE

This has been a good week. I think my definition of a good week has changed in the past year or two.

Activity- Personal Study: Consider the way you defined a good week 2 years ago, with the way you define it now.  Compare and contrast.

The majority of our solid, progressing investigators were neither solid nor progressing this week, so I think I'll forego updating you on any of those...

I'm grateful to have companions who can be my friend.  I'm sure somewhere in some handbook it says that missionaries and missionary companions should be missionary companions first, and friends second.  Probably true. But in my experience,  if I can be friends with my companions, missionary work just falls into place without much extra effort.

I feel like I've gotten into the swing of this transfer now, which means, as far as time will feel, this transfer is practically over.  We're starting week 3 already, how crazy is that?

Time is so short, what a funny concept.

Ok, writing about my week is hard, I'm gonna go back to just writing about study topics.

The first principle in ever missionary lesson is, or is directly related to, the Nature of God. It's absolutely essential to know about the Nature of God, or we can never understand who WE are, as His children.  We have Divine Spiritual DNA. Not a new concept, but one that we cant forget.

John 1, among other places, tell us that Christ is Light.  (this will be cliffnotes, short sentence version, 5 min left and I'm a slow typer...)

A property of Light is that it RADIATES.  It starts at a central point, and moves outward in every direction, unless inhibited by an external factor.  Christ is light so this applies to Him, and we are the Sons and Daughters of God.  No time for scriptures or other things, but I'll just skip to the point.

Christ spent his entire life to, and continues to, ACT to benefit and uplift others.  When King Benjamin exhorts us to serve our fellow men, it is because to become who God wants us to be, we need to be proactive in helping others.  Missionaries are happy because we don't have to divide up our time between others and ourselves, we serve others 100%.  Being a non full time missionary makes the balancing hard. But if YOU aren't as happy as you want to be, change the balance from wherever it is now, to a greater emphasis on others.  I believe that Christ is happy, because he finds His joy in making us happy. When we do the same thing, we experience maybe a small percentage of the same type of joy that He does.  We were CREATED for the purpose of bringing light to others the way that He did.  I invite anyone reading this, to do at least 1 thing EVERY day, to RADIATE.

Love,
Lonas
